We reengineered the driver app to implement the Uber Beacon-like functionality into the Uber clone script because the driver app is more responsible for it than the rider app. We've written a separate piece of code to manage Bluetooth networking and communication between the driver and rider apps.

Ride cancellation is very common, as are post-ride cancellation issues, especially those involving a cancellation charge. As a result, Uber has implemented a two-sided cancellation procedure to ensure that neither passengers or drivers are penalised for cancelling a bus.

Uber recognises two distinct sub-scenarios when it comes to "trip cancellation from the rider's perspective." Uber does not charge a termination fee if the passenger cancels the ride within 5 minutes of booking it. It verifies the driver's position, notifies the passenger, charges a cancellation fee, and keeps track of the driver's cancellation rate and other relevant data.

What exactly is it?

Both the Uber and UberEats apps have an instant driver identification feature that requires drivers to check their identity by taking a selfie inside the app. After every 2 to 4 online sessions, or if the app detects any suspicious user behaviour, the app will ask drivers to verify their identity.

What exactly is it?

With Uber’s AI-based matching algorithm, Uber now does not give priority to the driver who is ‘nearest’, but to the driver who is ‘fastest’. Both drivers and riders benefit from this new matching algorithm because it saves them time.

When a rider requests a ride, Uber's matching algorithm considers factors such as weather, traffic, one-way streets, bridges, driver ratings, and cancellation rates to find the "right" driver who can pick up the rider in the shortest amount of time.
